"Commitment"

...The scariest word in the dictionary, hands down. It frightens young and old alike, scaring people to drugs and other mind-altering reliefs. What is so scary about it? Why does it push us to the brink of avoidance? And what remedy will fix us from this terrible fear? What does Hashem say about commitment, for those who don’t know, there is a tractate call Niddarim which delves into the promises we make in life and how detailed it elaborates on all life’s pressures, it is mentioned in the ten commandments (do not swear falsely) and it is such an important part of the growth that we start Yom Kippur off with this concept, “kol nidre”. When we commit to something in our lives, usually it’s something we are already doing, we put our heart and soul into it. This is probably the most important thing if you want to talk about growth, it is only with our “kishkes” that we can truly change. If we halfway do something, the other half is pushing away creating a life of pain and conflict. Sometimes we become so used to living like this, it seems so scary to dive in. Find me a great person and I will show you his commitment to all his life doings including the holy work of self-commitment....

Have a Great week!
